The shift

Stop asking Bob.
Start asking Kipper.

Every company has a Bob in Finance — the person who fields Slack messages all day from colleagues asking about invoices, payment status, and inventory levels. Bob costs $200K a year, and a big chunk of that salary goes to answering questions that AI can handle instantly.

Kipper replaces those interruptions. Anyone on your team can ask a question in Slack — at any hour, in any channel they have access to — and get an answer sourced directly from your finance system.

Built for Slack

Not a chatbot bolted onto Slack — a Slack app, designed for it.

Six things Kipper gets right about working inside Slack — that most "AI for finance" tools don't.

Lives where your team already lives

Works in any channel or DM — no new tab to open, no new tool for your team to learn. If they're in Slack, they have access to finance.

Answers come back in-thread

Every answer drops into the conversation as a regular Slack message. React, share to another channel, or quote it in a follow-up — same as any teammate's reply.

Slack's permissions, respected

Private channels stay private. Kipper only joins channels you invite it to, and only answers for users your admins have approved in the portal.

No new login. Slack SSO.

Your team is already authenticated in Slack. There's no second password, no extra MFA prompt, no IT-managed account to provision per user.

Every question, in the audit log

Every question and answer is recorded in the admin portal — who asked, when, in which channel, and what data the answer touched. Export anytime.

Installs from the Slack App Directory

Standard OAuth install. Your IT team reviews scopes the same way they do for any other Slack app — and can revoke access in two clicks if they ever need to.

How it works

Up and running in under an hour.

01

Connect your finance system

Link NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Xero through our admin portal. We cache your full dataset for fast queries.

02

Set up permissions

Choose what financial data is visible — full access, or just the areas that matter to each team.

03

Install on Slack

Add the Slack app from the App Directory and invite it to the channels your team should be able to ask in.

Each teammate's Slack email must match their Kipper account email — that's how Kipper links a Slack identity to your workspace's access rules.

04

Start asking questions

Type a question in plain English. Get an answer in ~5 seconds, sourced from your finance data.

Interactive demo

Don't take our word for it. Ask it yourself.

Open the live Slack demo and ask anything — invoices, AR, cash, revenue — answered from sample finance data.

What your team can ask

The questions your team already asks — answered in seconds.

Real Slack messages, by the role asking them. Plain English in, structured answer out.

Show me our P&L for Q4 by subsidiary

Kipper
Kipper APP 2:30 PM

Sorry, Financial Reports are not available in this channel. You have access to: Inventory levels, Sales Orders, and Fulfillment Status.

A user without "Financial Reports" permission asks for a P&L. Kipper refuses — and logs the attempt.

Read-only & private

Your finance data,
on a tight leash.

The four design choices that make Kipper safe to put in front of a CFO and an IT reviewer in the same room.

  • Read-only by architecture. Kipper cannot create, edit, or approve transactions. There is no write path — not behind a flag, not for admins, not ever.

  • You decide what's queryable. Configure exactly which records, accounts, and subsidiaries are visible. Sensitive areas like payroll or executive compensation can be excluded entirely.

  • Different teams, different views. Use permission sets to give Sales access to AR but not P&L, or restrict a region to only its own subsidiary. Same install, different scopes.

  • Your data isn't training anything. Your finance data is never used to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI model — ours or anyone else's. It's queried and discarded.

Wait, what about…

The four questions everyone asks before they install.

Will it hallucinate numbers?

No. Every answer is a structured query against a cached copy of your real finance data — not a language model guessing. If a question is ambiguous or the data isn't there, Kipper says so instead of inventing a number.

Where does my data actually go?

Your data is cached in AWS and never sent to OpenAI training, shared with third parties, or used to train any model. You control which records the system can even see through data access configurations.

What if we want to remove it?

Uninstall like any Slack app — two clicks from your Slack workspace admin. Disconnecting from your finance system clears the cached data within 24 hours. Audit logs are retained per your account's data retention policy.

Will it slow down our Slack?

No. Kipper only responds when it's mentioned or asked a question, and replies in about five seconds. It doesn't post unprompted, doesn't watch other conversations, and doesn't index your messages.

FAQ

Slack admin & install questions

Everything your IT, security, and Slack-admin teams will want to know before they approve the install.

Install it from the Slack App Directory the same way you install any other Slack app. A workspace admin runs through standard OAuth, approves the requested scopes, and connects a finance system in our admin portal. Most teams are live in under an hour.
Kipper requests the minimum scopes needed to receive messages it's mentioned in, post replies in approved channels, and identify users so permissions can be enforced. We do not request scopes to read messages it isn't mentioned in, modify channel settings, or access user DMs without permission. Full scope list is published in the Slack App Directory listing.
Yes. Kipper only operates in channels it's been invited to and that an admin has approved in the portal. You can restrict it to a single channel like #finance-questions, or open it up to multiple channels with different permission sets per channel.
Kipper respects Slack's permission model. It can only see messages in channels it's been invited to. Private channels stay private — Kipper cannot read them unless explicitly added. DMs to Kipper are supported but, like channels, can be enabled or disabled per user group by an admin.
Yes. The base plan includes one permission set — everyone sees the same scope of data. Enterprise plans add multiple permission sets, so you can give Sales access to AR data only, restrict a regional team to its subsidiary, and give Finance full access — all within the same Slack workspace.
Two clicks from Slack's workspace admin: Apps → Kipper → Remove. Once removed, Kipper stops responding immediately. Disconnecting your finance system in the admin portal clears the cached data within 24 hours. Audit logs are retained per your account's data retention setting.
Kipper works on Free, Pro, Business+, and Enterprise Grid Slack plans. Enterprise Grid customers can install Kipper at the Org level and roll it out workspace-by-workspace, with central admin and audit visibility across the org.
Your finance data cache is deleted within 24 hours of cancellation. Audit logs are retained for the duration of your account's data retention policy and then deleted. Slack-side, removing the app from your workspace immediately stops all access — even before the cache is cleared.
Yes — a free 14-day trial that includes 100 questions, with no credit card required to start. You'll have access to the full product against your real finance data. Convert to a paid plan whenever you're ready, or let it expire with no charge.

AI disclaimer: Kipper runs real queries against your finance data, so the numbers come straight from your system. AI interprets your question and writes the response, so double-check anything critical against your accounting software.
