Oracle will connect ChatGPT to NetSuite. It asks every person to sign in first.

NetSuite publishes the AI Connector Service, and ChatGPT is one of the two clients its documentation names. It is free, it is hosted by Oracle inside your own account, and it is the right call for people who work in NetSuite already. The catch is the sign-in: every person authenticates with their own NetSuite credentials and a non-admin role, and Oracle blocks the Administrator role outright.

How it works

How to connect NetSuite to ChatGPT

The NetSuite side is an integration record and a subsidiary choice. The ChatGPT side follows OpenAI's own three screens.

Create the integration record

In NetSuite go to Setup, Integration, Manage Integrations, New. Pick Authorization Code Grant and tick REST Web Services. NetSuite shows the Client ID and Secret once only.

Connect and pick subsidiaries

Paste the Account ID, Client ID and Secret into Kipper and approve in NetSuite. Kipper lists your active subsidiaries and pulls nothing until you choose which are in scope.

Add the connection in ChatGPT

Switch on Developer mode under Settings, then Security and login. At chatgpt.com/plugins press the plus, name it, and paste your Kipper MCP server URL under Connection.

Type the question in ChatGPT. Kipper returns the NetSuite fact; ChatGPT uses it in the reply.

Use Oracle's if the people asking work in NetSuite. It is free, it is official, and ChatGPT is one of the clients Oracle documents. What it cannot do is answer somebody who has no NetSuite credentials, because every person signs in with their own and picks a non-admin role, and Oracle blocks the Administrator role for security. Yes, a synced copy of the record types it supports. NetSuite sends no change notifications, so a live lookup would mean hammering the API and still doing the arithmetic outside your books. The copy is encrypted in transit and at rest, scoped to the subsidiaries you selected, read-only in both directions, and every question against it is logged.

No. ChatGPT calls Kipper over MCP, and Kipper runs a read-only query against your synced NetSuite records before anything comes back. The invoice and inventory figures come from your data rather than from the model.

Customers, invoices, payments, vendors, bills, purchase orders, inventory (quantity on hand and bill of materials), sales orders, quotes, credit memos, and vendor credits, plus supported financial reports and report lines: the Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow statement. Journal-entry review, intercompany consolidations, and GL workflows stay outside the connector.

Not a NetSuite one. A NetSuite administrator makes the connection once, and after that each person you have set up in Kipper can ask from ChatGPT. Having ChatGPT alone is not access. Kipper answers from your synced records.

Slack and Teams run as Kipper chat apps. This is the MCP route instead, where ChatGPT provides the interface and Kipper is the tool it calls for NetSuite data.

NetSuite does not announce its own changes, so Kipper pulls rather than waits. A fifteen-minute cycle brings across whatever changed, and once a week the whole set is re-pulled from scratch. A figure that moved a couple of minutes ago may not have landed yet.
