Why Kipper

Nobody else does all of this.

We checked about twenty-five products, including the AI that Intuit, Xero and Oracle ship themselves. Plenty are good at some of this. None of them did all six.

What your team asks

The questions nobody else is answering

We read the published examples from every conversational finance tool we could find. They answer about plans, metrics and the close. Not one of them shows a question like these.

Sales

“Has Bright Harbor paid invoice 1042 yet?”

Before the renewal call, without messaging finance.

Customer support

“Did we issue a credit memo for this customer?”

While the customer is still on the phone.

Operations

“How many SKU-9032 do we have on hand?”

From the warehouse floor, on a phone.

Purchasing

“What is still open on PO 4471?”

Before chasing a supplier who already shipped.

Account management

“What does this customer owe us in total?”

Ahead of a renewal, with the real number.

Finance

“Which invoices are more than 90 days overdue?”

Faster than opening the system and running a report.

Quicker to see than to read about.

The demo is the real product, running in your browser on sample data. No signup.

Why it reaches everyone

Give it to two hundred people in an afternoon

Kipper reads and reports. That one design choice is what lets a finance lead approve it for the whole company instead of a careful handful.

Your books stay exactly as your bookkeeper left them, each person sees only what you allowed, and every question is on the record. Those are the three things a security review asks about.

Which is why most rollouts take days rather than a quarter.

If you are weighing other options

Why this one and not the obvious alternatives

A fair question, since Intuit, Xero and Oracle all ship their own AI now. We checked about twenty-five products, including every first-party one. Here is where they land.

01

All three accounting systems, one tool

Kipper

QuickBooks Online, Xero and NetSuite. The same question works on any of them, so a group with different books in different entities still gets one answer.

Everywhere else

Each accounting vendor's own AI covers its own product. The tools that do reach all three are either data pipelines that land rows in a warehouse, or a full analytics platform to buy, build on and staff.

02

Every channel your team already works in

Kipper

Slack, Microsoft Teams, a text message, and ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini. The question gets asked where it came up, not somewhere people have to go.

Everywhere else

None of the accounting vendors' own assistants answers in Slack or Teams. Xero says Teams is coming in the months ahead. The closest product on channels is a finance planning tool without a text-message option.

03

Reading only, and the industry went the other way

Kipper

There is no code in Kipper that writes, so nothing to switch off and nothing to check each quarter.

Everywhere else

Intuit announced its connectors were “moving beyond read-only access to your data” in July 2026. Its developer server ships with create, update and delete on by default. Oracle’s NetSuite service can create and update records too.

04

Your own rules about who sees what

Kipper

You add the people who can ask and set what each one sees, in Kipper. Nobody needs the accounting system to have heard of them first.

Everywhere else

Every accounting vendor scopes answers to the asker’s own role in that system, in their own words. A shared developer server does the opposite and gives everyone the access of whoever set it up.

05

A record of the questions, in plain English

Kipper

Every question is logged as it was asked, with the person and the time, and it stays there.

Everywhere else

Some platforms log this well, and they tend to be the ones you buy a warehouse and a data team for. Among the accounting connectors, logs record the technical request rather than the question, and Oracle keeps its execution log for 21 days.

The other routes

Everything else you could reasonably try

All four are good at something. Here is what each is good at, and where it stops.

Official AI connectors

Intuit, Xero, Oracle

First-party, free or included, and quick to switch on.

Built for a person with their own accounting login, answering in one assistant.

Analytics platforms

Domo, Power BI, ThoughtSpot

Powerful, and some do answer questions in Teams.

A platform to buy, model and staff first, and the answers follow the last refresh.

Data pipelines

Fivetran, Airbyte, Stitch

The right way to get accounting data into a warehouse.

They move rows. Somebody still has to build the thing that answers.

Automation tools

Zapier, Make, Workato

Excellent for a number posted to a channel on a schedule.

You build each scenario, and each one answers exactly one question.

Each one is compared in full, with setup steps, in the QuickBooks, Xero and NetSuite guides.

Where your team asks

No new tool for anyone to learn

One administrator connects your accounting system once. After that your team just asks, wherever they already work.

Slack

In the channel where the question came up.

Microsoft Teams

Mention Kipper and the answer lands in the thread.

Text message

For the people on site or in a van, with no laptop.

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini

Inside the AI assistant your team already uses.

Who builds it

A team that has done this for over a decade

The people who build Kipper have spent more than ten years connecting QuickBooks, Xero and NetSuite to the tools companies actually work in, for hundreds of businesses.

Every one of those products was built to read widely and report quickly, because that is what finance teams asked for, years before anyone used the word agent.

Kipper is the same idea, for everyone who was never going to open the books.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

What Kipper answers, how fast, who can see what, and what it costs.

Kipper lets your team ask questions about your company's accounting records in plain language and get answers from the real data. It reads QuickBooks Online, Xero and NetSuite, and answers in Slack, Microsoft Teams, SMS and AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.
Direct questions about your records: whether an invoice is paid, what a customer owes, which bills are outstanding for a vendor, what is still open on a purchase order, quantities on hand, credit memos, and totals or comparisons built from those. On NetSuite it also covers sales orders, quotes and bill of materials quantities.
Typically about five seconds. Kipper keeps a current copy of your records and answers from that rather than making a live call to your accounting system, so a large account answers as quickly as a small one.
QuickBooks Online and Xero notify Kipper as records change, so answers reflect your books within moments. NetSuite does not offer that, so Kipper refreshes it on a regular schedule.
No. One administrator connects the accounting system once. After that, the people your administrator chooses can ask questions without holding an account on that system themselves.
Only the people your administrator adds in Kipper, and each of them sees only what your administrator allows. That is a separate layer from your accounting system's own roles, so giving someone access in Kipper never gives them access to the accounting system itself.
No. Kipper reads and reports. It has no ability to create, edit or delete records in a connected accounting system, which is how the product is built rather than a permission setting. That is why most rollouts clear a security review quickly.
The figures in a Kipper answer come from your records, not from an AI model. Your question is turned into a lookup, that lookup runs against your own accounting data, and the result is what it returned. A model is used to understand the question and phrase the reply, so it is never the source of a number. Where Kipper has no answer in your records, it says so rather than estimating.
Kipper reports what your books say. If something was categorized incorrectly before Kipper arrived, Kipper will repeat it. It makes what is already in your accounting system reachable, and it is not a substitute for your bookkeeper or your accountant.
No. Your data stays inside Kipper's own cloud environment, is never used to train, fine-tune or improve any AI model, is not sold or rented, and is not used for anything other than answering your team's questions.
One administrator connects the accounting system, chooses who can ask and what they can see, and adds Kipper to Slack, Teams, SMS or an AI assistant. A free onboarding session covers the whole thing in about 30 minutes.
QuickBooks and Xero plans start at $200 per month including 10 active users. NetSuite plans start at $1,000 per month including 20 active users. Billing follows the people who actually ask a question in a given month. There is a 14-day free trial and no credit card is required.
